Lake Effects

Lake Effects is an activity guide with an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to teaching about Lake Superior.

Lake Effects has four sections:
1. "The Physical Lake Superior" contains lessons about the physical evolution and dynamics of Lake Superior.
2. "The Living Lake Superior" has activities that teach about the plants and animals of the basin, from arctic disjuncts to zooplankton.
3. "The Cultural Lake Superior" holds lessons about the human dimension, including history, human geography and environmental issues.
4. "Synthesis" is for those lessons and activities that couldn't be categorized: truly interdisciplinary programs that go beyond the classroom walls.

Most of the activities can be done in or out of the classroom.
